ALIWAGWAG FALLS

Aliwagwag Falls in Cateel is the Philippines’ tallest and most breathtaking multi-tiered waterfall. With 84 cascading steps plunging a total of approximately 340 meters, it resembles a natural stone staircase set amidst lush tropical rainforest. Nestled within the Aliwagwag Protected Landscape, it serves as the source of the Cateel River and stands as a prime example of the region’s rich biodiversity. KUTOO FESTIVAL

The Kutoo Festival of Cateel is a vibrant annual celebration rooted in the Mandaya agricultural ritual of “kutoo,” a pre-harvest prayer for a bountiful rice yield. Held during the town’s founding anniversary in late October, the festival features colorful street dancing and choreographed performances that mirror the traditional seven-step sequence of the kutoo ritual. This event not only honors age-old customs but also serves as a heartfelt thanksgiving for the harvest, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and community pride of Cateeleños
