The Municipality’s efforts in advocating and promoting the Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) Program of the province yielded positive results as it received a Plaque of Recognition from the Provincial Health Office (PRO). The plaque was given last November 29, 2022 at Honeys Hotel, Mati City. Pursuant to DOH Administrative Order 2010-0021, declaring National Sustainable Sanitation as a National Policy, the Municipal Health Office under the leadership of Dr. Miradel J. Silagan, strengthened its ZOD program implementation as a response to the mandate of the Department of Health.

Alongside the recognition the Municipality has received, Barangay San Miguel’s efforts did not go unnoticed as the latter also received a Plaque of Recognition for sustaining Grade 1 Level-Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) status. This recognition was made possible through the dedication and hard work of Sanitary Inspector Rodgen P. Agsuay.

The Municipality welcomes these recognitions as a testament to its drive towards a healthy and strong Cateel. There is still more work to do and plenty to accomplish but the Municipality is positive that we are treading on the right path as evidenced by the aforesaid recognitions.
