Pag-Abri marks the start of the 119th Araw ng Cateel and Kutoo Festival
The week-long celebration of the 119th Araw ng Cateel and Kutoo Festival was declared officially open by the Municipal Mayor, Honorable Emilou C. Nuńez, on October 24, 2022 at the Cateel Centennial Park. The program, du bbed as Pag-abri, signaled the start of the various activities and events of the aforesaid celebration.
With festivities culminating on the 29th, this year’s celebration is arguably the longest, thus far. Anchored on the theme “Catel-anon: Malig-on sa Tanang Panahon, Sang Grasya Haw Kalampusan, Mapasidungogon,” the celebration of the 119th Founding Anniversary of the municipality and the Kutoo Festival is ultimately an expression of Cateeleńos’ faith and sense of gratitude to the Almighty.
Giving emphasis on unity and camaraderie, Mayor Nuńez, urged Cateeleńos to take active part in the festivities. “Kanato ngidi adlaw, kanato ngidi kalingawan. Sin-o pa ba yang mag lingaw-lingaw kundi kita isab?” were the words of the local chief executive during her Pag-abri message. With colorful flags and buntings waving high, the opening program of the week-long festivities truly infused excitement and fervor in the air.
