The Technical Working Group (TWG) for the formulation of the Tourism and Cultural Development Plan of the Municipality of Cateel convened on Thursday, August 6, 2026, to review and refine the municipality’s proposed roadmap for sustainable tourism and cultural heritage development.

The meeting was led by Tourism Operations Officer Mr. Mark Anthony M. de Leon together with Hon. Jefrey Lungay, Chairperson of the Sangguniang Bayan Committee on Tourism. Members of the Technical Working Group, representatives from various municipal offices, and stakeholders participated in the review to ensure that the plan reflects the municipality’s development priorities and tourism potential.

During the meeting, Ms. Edna Parcon, the municipality’s consultant for the Tourism and Cultural Development Plan, presented the draft plan and guided the participants through its key components, including the municipality’s tourism profile, strategic goals, priority programs, proposed infrastructure, cultural heritage preservation initiatives, and implementation strategies.

The TWG carefully examined the contents of the plan, providing recommendations, comments, and proposed revisions to strengthen its alignment with existing local development plans and the long-term vision of the Municipality of Cateel.

The Technical Working Group’s recommendations will be incorporated into the draft plan prior to its finalization and subsequent endorsement for adoption, marking another important step toward strengthening tourism development and preserving the rich cultural identity of the Municipality of Cateel.
