The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Cateel conducted an Evacuation Management Drill on August 22, 2026, at Puroks Tamuag and Calarian, Barangay San Miguel.
The activity was conducted in coordination with the Philippine National Police and the Bureau of Fire Protection as part of the municipality’s continuing efforts to strengthen its preparedness and response mechanisms during emergencies and disasters.
The drill focused on the proper management of evacuation activities, including the coordination and movement of residents from identified areas to safer locations during an emergency situation.
The participation of the PNP and BFP reinforced the importance of inter-agency coordination in ensuring an organized and effective response during disasters. The activity also provided responders and community members an opportunity to practice established procedures and identify areas that may require further improvement.
The MDRRMO continues to conduct preparedness activities and drills in different communities to enhance disaster awareness, strengthen local response capabilities, and promote a culture of preparedness among residents.
The evacuation management drill in Barangay San Miguel forms part of the municipality’s ongoing initiatives to ensure that communities are better prepared to respond to emergencies and protect lives during disasters.
