Poblacion, Cateel, Davao Oriental โ Fifty-two persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens received assistive devices from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWDO) on August 31, 2023, at the Municipal Covered Court.
With Mayor Emilou C. Nunez leading the helm, assistive devices such as wheelchairs and crutches were distributed to the second batch of beneficiaries from different barangays in the municipality. In her message, Mayor Nunez emphasized that “no one shall be left behind.” In the municipality’s quest for growth and development, the young local chief executive stressed the importance of inclusivity. The Local Government Unit’s quest for economic advancement comes with the conscious effort to bring relief and attention to the vulnerable members of the community. Channels for equal allocation of resources and opportunities must always be at the purview of good governance and genuine service.
With smiles on their faces, the second batch of beneficiaries received their assistive devices with grateful hearts. Offering not just an improved quality of life for PWDs and senior citizens, this initiative spearheaded by the MSWDO is a testament to the municipality’s commitment to providing service that matters, further brandishing its vision of giving service with a heart.
